INTRODUCING OUR TEAM
Different cultures, origins, ideas, strengths, skill sets - our staff is a microcosm of the world with one shared trait - our complete love of what we do. How lucky we all are.
Patrick Guilfoyle Since 1
Pat is the “big dog” as the managing owner of Double Dog Dare Ya. He started his dog career at the age of fifteen in Omaha Nebraska, originally working for a boarding and grooming kennel in Omaha. By the age of eighteen, he was one of only three people exclusively licensed by the American Kennel Club as an assistant show dog handler in the United States. Working primarily with sighthounds and most specifically Afghan Hounds. He was fortunate enough to orchestrate the show careers of some of the leading Afghan Hounds of the time for their owners. Winning multiple Best In Shows in several countries, as well as handling numerous dogs to their championships.
The eighties found him married and creating one of the top winning Miniature Poodle owner-breeder-handled breeding programs in the country. With All-Breed and Specialty, as well as National Specialty, wins to their breeding programs credit.
The Guilfoyles moved from a leased boarding kennel that they ran together in Princeton, New Jersey to California when Pat became the editor of a leading Show Dog Publication.
In 1995 Pat created Double Dog Dare Ya as a grooming shop and one of the first dog day care centers in the country.
Four years ago the full-concept of overnight care for dogs was realized when a piece of zoned property was found in Burbank and became the Double Dog Dare Ya as it is today.
Sandra Beccera Since March 2001
Sandra is a mother of four children ages nine to eighteen. She also has a new puppy, Fergie, a Chihuahua-Pommeranian mix..
When she finds time, Sandra is a fabulous cook and baker and has garnered a reputation from friends and family for her inventive cake decorating. Sandra’s my personal foil at the kennel, with a wicked and delightful sense of humor. I would find my own family lacking without her. Sandra’s sense of fairness and generosity is an inspiration to us all.
